Advice Re Nuvi 650 vs. Navigon 7100 (same price 0) - which would you prefer & why?I like the free traffic subscription plus the bluetooth with the Navigon for the same price as the Nuvi, but reviews seem to indicate problems with Navigon's maps while the Garmin gets rave reviews. Consumer Reports doesn't even mention Navigon. I wonder whether anyone has experience to share. Thanks!

I would go with the Garmin without hesitation. I have not used the two particular models you listed, but I have used the next lower models of each respective brand (Garmin 360 and Navigon 5100)..
What I like about Garmin (and Magellan) is that the user interface is very intuitive and simple to walk through. Key sequences are logical and short.
My dislike of Navigon is that it seemed to take many more keystrokes to get to the same point. It was hard for me to get the hang of it, and I had to read the instructions (!) whereas with Garmin I felt that the machine was guiding me through the same steps that I would have followed myself. The touch screen sensitivity also was off for me, requiring more re-types than I expected.
I would look at Navigon if I was trying to be cheap and take the off-brand route. But if Navigon and Garmin are at the same price, that decision is too easy for me. The off-brand that I would consider is Mio. I used it once with a rental car in Europe, and it worked beautifully (I have not used it in the US though).
