GARMIN NUVI: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE GARMIN NUVI 250 AND THE 255?I JUST BOUGHT A GARMIN NUVI 255 AND I AM CURIOUS AS TO WHAT THE DIFFERENCE IS BETWEEN MINE AND THE 250?

Two big differences.

The first is that the 255 has text-to-speech. It reads street names to you instead of just saying turn left or turn right.

The second is that the 255 is a newer model, starting in the middle of 2008. The 250 has been out about 3 years. The 255 has a faster chip and better user interface, and a bunch of related improvements. For example it picks up satellite signals much faster, it can store photos, it shows speed limits, it has a next turn indicator (arrow at top left corner of navigation screen), it is compatible with optional traffic receivers, etc.

You did the right thing going with the 255.
