My Handheld GPS seems to be more accurate when I wear my hat ? ?Could the satillite signal be reflecting off of my bald head when I do not wear my hat ?

no the hat is just cutting down the refection of the sun off your bald head so you can see the screen better

Maybe the hat shields the bounce-back effect from the metal plate that's in your head & directs it to the GPS device without interference!
