My computer wont find my GPS as a device?

My computer wont find my GPS as a device?I have a xps dell computer and a garmin nuvi 200. I am trying to download the poi loader to update my gps, it is connected with an usb cord has the memory in im running windows vista all help appreciated

In Vista click on the "Start" button. Click on "Computer" there you will see the various drives. When you connect your nuvi (make sure it is on) it will probably appear as drive "h" or "f" and may say "mass storage" device. To make sure disconnect the nuvi and go back to computer if the drive is no longer listed you have the correct one. You can then instruct the POI loader where it is.
