Garmin nuvi 650 reception.?

Garmin nuvi 650 reception.?I'm driving to Howland Maine tomorrow and I was wondering if my GPS would lose signal in that area. I was thinking of getting the external antenna for it. Any one ever have any problems with service. I was curious bacause there is no cellular phone service in that area.
I just bought the antenna it was only 30$ so why not. Thanks for the info.

Hi Garfield,

The only place I ever had a problem with mine was downtown Chicago and downtown New York. Apparently the tall buildings were blocking the signal.

Once in the mountains in Gatlinburg TN I lost the signal briefly on an off for several miles but it really didn't cause a problem. About the time it was lost it was regained.

I do not have an external antenna.
