Gps system storing way points...plz answer?what are way points and which gps is better the Extrex H or the Garmin GPS 80 Handheld or the Bushnell BackTrack...if you can store 500 way points how do u know which is which and which of these can store maps...and which ones can you mark your position and then later head back to were you marked... and lastly which one is more accurate in were you are and were your heading and can receive Satellite signals faster...like working mostly every time you turn it on

Say you are hiking. Mark the parking lot were you left your car as1.
You walk up a trail and take a left turn. Just after you make the turn mark as 2. You continue with this until you reach your destination.
Then start with your last # and follow the arrow on gps. Gps will tell you that you have arrived at that point so select next#
Most gps systems are good for atleast 30 feet in accuracy most closer to 15 feet. Mine start working 20 seconds after they are turned on.

I got the Etrex.
I recommend not storing too many way points - just the ones you think you need. Delete the ones you don't need anymore.
You want to store the ones that have something useful, like where you left the car, the meat stash, your girlfriend, a place you made a confusing change in direction...
There is a nice little function that allows you to bring up one of the previous points and get a directional pointer to it - like a compass needle.

i`ve had the etrax and another one of the Magellans,but my FAVORITE is the Magellan Meridian Color it will do all the things you mentioned but it will do it in COLOR,i won`t go in the woods without it!
