hcg hormone low(aparantly) faint line on test in GPs!!?Heya! Im about 5weeks pregnant,Im sooo worried!! Just was wondering, when I went to the doctor she said there was no doubt about it that I was definately pregnant.I dont know the proper dates v my last period and she said jugding that i was about 5 weeks! so,She told me that the tests they use are better than the ones you can buy in the shops and that they are 4 diagnosing patients! but the line on the test was a little bit faint! she said it means the HCG hormone is low or smethin and I have to go back in ten days to do another 1!! Is this mad? Does this mean I might not be expecting after all?? :-(( I dont know!! My mind is working overtime here with questions etc!! Also I just wanted to ask has anyone been EXTREMELY thirsty?? Because I cant seem to drink enough fluids!! Any answers greaty appreciated guys XxX

Any line of a pregnancy test means you are pregnant. Different women give off a different amount of hormones in their body at different times.
The only reason they probably want you to go back is so that they can make sure that the number of hormones has gone up...it increases like crazy. Sometimes the hormone is low which usually means that you may or may not be as far along as they think you are. Most doctors do not consider a woman pregnant until about 6 weeks, but I knew with my son at 2 weeks and my hormone count was very low.
I would not put too much thought into it, and would be thinking about what color to paint the nursery.
Congratulations it sounds like you will soon be a member of morning sickness, headaches, stretch marks, weight gain, back pain, stomach pain, breast tenderness, and a whole lifetime of love.

You are most definitely pregnant! The only reason you have to go back for another test is too make sure the HCG level continues to rise. If it doesn't rise then they would suspect miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.
A lot of women have HCG levels on the lower end of the scale and continue to have a happy, healthy pregnancy. Sometimes the lower HCG can indicate a greater chance of miscarriage.
Lol Usually you get a salivary mouth but every pregnancy and woman is different. In the later stages a dry mouth can be a symptom of Gestational Diabetes, which is only a pregnancy thing and usually subsides once delivery has taken place.
Good luck and Congrats!
