Is GPS going to become useless once LTE technology takes over?

Is GPS going to become useless once LTE technology takes over?Hey look I don't wanna ruin the telecommunications industry. God knows I have a lot of money invested in it on all of its sectors. So I am pretty much covered when it starts to roll out. So the last thing I wanna so is ruin it. But I don't want to sacrifice my GPS for it either.

LTE can only go so far as to track your global position. GPS has a long life ahead of it still.

Very likely. Sprint, Verizon Wireless and AT&T are moving away from WiMax and leaning towards LTE ( Long Term Evolution ).

GPS & LTE are 2 different things. GPS is more about location whereas LTE is cellular data access.

i assume you refer to LightSquared cellular data service. tough question. the FAA has already told pilots not to use GPS instruments when near the test markets, with Las Vegas being the first. first responder equipment equipped with GPS does not work near LightSquared facilities. Despite these problems, the FCC is giving a go-ahead for more test markets, with a national roll-out just ahead. the problem is the LightSquared frequencies are adjacent to GPS satellite frequencies and no GPS equipment in current use can reject the interference. Worse yet, current GPS devices are not able to tell you that their service has been degraded either.
