Is a recent model garmin nuvi accurate for calculating my speed on my dirt bike?I figure if I take it and do some runs up and down the road, i'll see how fast I go. I'm just curious how accurate it is.

GPS based speedometers are very accurate. Your garmin also has a mode to measure maximum speed for a trip - in your case a trip up and down the road. Just clear the max speed before you start and you don't even have to look at the speedometer or the GPS when you do your high-speed test run. It will record the max speed for you so you can keep your eyes on the road.
