What is the best gps unit available for the car?

I work for a cab company as a trainer. I recently had the chance to try out a Magellan and a Tom Tom.
I found the Magellen much more complicated than it needed to be. It may have been because our drivers didn't need it to navigate across the city, only to locate streets they had not seen before. The Tom Tom was much simpler and more intuitive. Had a much faster learning curve.
You may be surprised to learn that very few cab drivers actually use a GPS system. Most of them can look up something on a map almost as fast as someone can type in an address in the GPS system. I can be a good back up.

I've tried a couple in the last years. Each one has their good points and less good points. The worse one I tried, no matter what others might say, was TELETYPE. I was using the latest version at that time, one year ago... I know recently the seem to have change their software but it's too late.
The one my wife and I are using in the last six months for our numerous small trip is TOM TOM. For Canada, for Quebec cities at least, it is not up to date concerning the street. This is the less good point but well... For all the nice and good feature it has, I just love it. It's very easy. Just after using it five minutes you "FEEL" they make it for a pocket PC AND for someone inside a car. They did not put 15 functions in the same page. Buttons are BIG so even if it shakes inside the car because you are driving (assuming we're talking about the co-pilot) it's still possible to click on exact function we want to do...
Concernign TAXI, I don't know for which area the above person was talking about. It was probably US maybe... But I can tell you that in Italy in area of Milano, Taxi are using GPS. Also, in Edmonton I've seen a couple and also in Vancouver. In Montreal I haven't seen a lot but they should!!! Ha! Ha!
