How long would GPS (Global Positioning System) stay functional with no one maintaining the satellites?Picture a post-apocalyptic world where most of the humans are wiped out by some kind of plague (meaning no bombs destroying things). How long would the GPS satellites stay functional if there were no humans keeping the system up and running?

the satellites depend on updates from ground stations, which would quickly stop operating. The question is how long would it take for errors to accumulate until they are no longer useful.

My guess would be perhaps a year, but that is just a guess.
