Q&A: Need a GPS device to use on horse trails. Help! :)?

Need a GPS device to use on horse trails. Help! :)?My friend is an avid horse rider and is looking for a GPS device that once you get to the trail you can set a "start" point then at the end of the ride set a "finish" point. Then take that information and download it to a computer to review the route and potentially print it out. Is there such a device available - like from Garmin? Thanks in advance for you advice!

Start with units that are designed for hikers that have a PC interface.

The Garmin 60csx would work fine for this. You can leave a "breadcrumb" trail and see exactly how the trail wanders around. It will give you the total distance you travel on the trail and you can set waypoints. You can get the terrain map for your state as well so you can see the ups and downs the trail takes. Check it out at REI or other store.
